Anita David - Lab Supervisor
Website: www.irmma.org
Anita David is a Computer Network Technologist with Instructional Development at UCSB and is the founder and supervisor of the Digital Editing Lab. After being a student video activist Anita rallied students and professors to demand access to production tools for the entire student population. For the past five years Anita and her staff have trained over 500 students a year from a wide range of campus departments that produce videos and DVDs for instructional use. She also runs a documentary production company and is the Executive Director of IRMMA, a non-profit that raises money to develop small production labs internationally at grassroots organizations and at-risk youth programs.

hello

Kelsey Brannan
Website: http://web.mac.com/kb1989
Kelsey is a freshman at UCSB as a Film Major. For the past year she has worked at the Apple Store as a Mac Creative and Specialist during summer and breaks back at her hometown in San Rafael, CA. She enjoys documentaries and experimental film and hopes to become an editor. Currently, she is interning with the Carsey-Wolf Center for Film and Media at UCSB and assistant editing for the 106 crew production "Inn Deep." This summer she is going to study film abroad at Cambridge University. She loves running, bananas, The Office, Apple products, and being a complete goof-ball.

hello

Mark Myslín
Website: www.fredhope.com/hta_media
I'm a second year Linguistics and Spanish major and I love analyzing the digital media revolution from the perspective of sociocultural linguistics. I've produced several yearbook-style DVDs and I coordinated the North Coast Student Film Festival in Humboldt County for two years. From time to time I do freelance work in web design. My ideas of fun include: wiling away hours in Photoshop, going on epic bike rides, watching obscure films from Spain or Latin America, and eating mangos.

hello

Danea Johnson
Third-year Film and Media Communications double major! I am interested in the viewpoints and artistic talents of those without the privileges or experience to fully exppress themselves. I absolutely love film and have a knack for ruining movies by overanalyzing them. I am UCSB's Student Executive Producer for the San Francisco-based television network Current TV and I am looking for pod recruits! I enjoy production and editing and am well-oriented with Final Cut Pro and DVD Studio Pro.

hello

Woo Lovinger
I am a second year film and media studies major who loves production, especially animation. Working at the lab gives me the opportunity to help others create amazing stuff and get help for my own creative work. That is what I like best about UCSB's film department! Besides making films I like eating and coaching gymnastics (maybe doing some gymnastics). It's all about the motion!

hello

Annie Wilkes
At the time this blurb was written I was a third-year Film and Women's Studies major (I have no idea how often this bios page is updated). My interests besides digital editing include pop-art, water-colour paintings and deconstructing gender stereotypes. I am especially interested in how DVD creation can expand narrative as well as how independently created media interacts with and subverts mainstream media. I also like kittens.
